Campbell is a city in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,460 at the 2000 census. The city's name is generally pronounced "camel" (with a silent "B") by local residents, however it is properly pronounced Camp- Bell. The city has also been nicknamed Soup City. Campbell is served by a branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. Campbell is located at 41438N, 803526W (41.077272, -80.590542)GR1.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 9,460 people, 3,729 households, and 2,602 families residing in the city. The population density was 979.2/km (2,536.8/mi). The racial makeup of the city was 77.21% White, 16.69% African American, 0.10% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 3.48% from other races, and 2.32% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.97% of the population.
Campbell is home to the majority of Youngstown's Greek-American population, including other middle-class ethnic Americans such as: Croatians, Czechs, Italians, Puerto Ricans, and Slovaks.
